The ISSA Catamaran Skipper course is a specialized endorsement designed for existing ISSA certificate holders who wish to extend their expertise to multihulls. Unlike monohulls, catamarans require specific knowledge regarding twin engine maneuvering, stability, sailing & unique structural systems.
The course provides a comprehensivetransition, ensuring that a skipper can safely enjoy the comfort andperformance of a catamaran while understanding its specific operational limits.
Note: This is not a standalone certificate. It serves as a specialized endorsement that validates the holder’s ability to operate a catamaran. It is only valid when presented alongside a valid ISSA Inshore Skipper (or higher) license. As it is a specialization, the distance from shelter, GT and Length Overall (LOA) limits are governed by the candidate’s primary skipper certificate.
