WMU and ISSA Sets Higher Standards for Yacht Master Training

WMU and the International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA) are collaborating to strengthen Master of Yacht (Small Commercial Vessel)teaching standards that will help shape the future of yacht master education by:

✔️ Improving international training standards
✔️ Balancing traditional navigation with modern GMDSS and VHF requirements
✔️ Promoting greener sailing through an Environmentally Responsible Sailing module (aligned with MARPOL)
✔️ Strengthening skipper training for safer and more professional charter operations

Ultimately, these efforts will foster enhanced skills in support of safer seas and a sustainable maritime future.
