ISSA Attends the 18th Qingdao International Sailing Week and 3rd China (Qingdao) International Marine Sports Convention
Qingdao, China — August 28–September 3, 2026 — The International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA) was honored to attend the 18th Qingdao International Sailing Week and the 3rd China (Qingdao) International Marine Sports Convention, held in Qingdao from August 28 to September 3, 2026.
During the opening ceremony, Ms. Qiao Yunping, Director-General of the Shandong Provincial Sports Bureau, and Mr. Tomasz Lipski, President of ISSA, exchanged commemorative gifts, marking the close relationship and continued cooperation between ISSA and the Chinese sailing community.
A key moment of the event was the renewal of the Youth Sailing Exchange Program Agreement between ISSA and the Qingdao Administration Center of Sailing Sport. The renewed agreement reinforces the commitment of both organizations to expanding opportunities for young sailors, promoting international exchange, and supporting the development of youth sailing through educational and sporting cooperation.
The partnership between ISSA and Qingdao dates back to 2017, and the 2026 event marks the ninth time that ISSA has been invited to participate in Qingdao’s annual flagship sailing event. Over the years, this longstanding cooperation has provided an important platform for strengthening international connections, sharing expertise, and encouraging greater participation in sailing among young people.
ISSA President Tomasz Lipski represented the association throughout the event, participating in activities and meetings focused on the future development of sailing education, youth exchange, and international cooperation.
The continued partnership between ISSA and the Qingdao Administration Center of Sailing Sport reflects a shared vision of using sailing as a powerful tool for education, personal development, cultural exchange, and international friendship.
