ISSA Attends the 2025 Qingdao International Sailing Week

Tomasz Lipski, President of the International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA), was invited to attend the 2025 17th Qingdao International Sailing Week • Qingdao International Marine Festival. During the opening ceremony held on September 12, Mr. Lipski participated in the official signing ceremony, where ISSA renewed its cooperation agreement with the Qingdao Sports Development Center.
The Qingdao International Sailing Week • Qingdao International Marine Festival is one of China’s premier maritime events, held annually in the coastal city of Qingdao, often referred to as the “Sailing Capital of China.” Since its launch in 2009, the festival has grown into a globally recognized platform that promotes sailing culture, marine sports, and international exchange. It brings together professional sailors, youth sailing teams, industry leaders, and marine enthusiasts from around the world.
The continued collaboration between ISSA and Qingdao authorities marks a significant step toward promoting international youth sailing education and exchange. Through joint programs, training, and events, the partnership is expected to create more opportunities for young sailors to experience high-level sailing environments, thereby contributing to the growth and popularization of sailing among youth worldwide.
During the International Sailing Week from September 11 to 17, ISSA also sent a team of young sailors to actively participate in several key events, including the Qingdao International Optimist Training Camp & Regatta 2025, the Qingdao-ASEAN Optimist Invitational 2025, and the Qingdao International Youth Regatta 2025 (ILCA 4). These events further reflect ISSA's commitment to supporting global youth participation in sailing and fostering cross-cultural connections through sport.
