Each course listed here has been selected based on real-world usefulness, demand, and feedback from training centers. You can always check with your local I for availability and schedules in your area.

VHF Radio

Learn how to use marine radios for safe and effective communication at sea. ISSA Short Range Operators Certificate is awarded after the training.

Boat Master

A Boat Master license holder is permitted to operate a powerboat up to 16m LOA, both by day and by night, within 12 nautical miles from shore.

Inshore Skipper

The Inshore Skipper license holder is permitted to operate a sailing yacht up to 24m LOA, both by day and by night, within 20 nautical miles from shore.

Offshore Skipper

The Offshore Skipper license holder is permitted to operate a sailing yacht up to 24m LOA, both by day and by night, within 120 nautical miles from shore.

Inland Power Yacht Skipper

An Inland Power Yacht Skipper license holder is permitted to operate a powerboat up to 15m LOA, in inland waters, during daylight hours only, and within 3 nautical miles from shore.

Yacht Crew

The Yacht Crew course is an entry-level training designed for newcomers to gain essential nautical knowledge and practical skills needed to assist skippers on sailing or power yachts up to 15m LOA, during daylight hours only.

Train for the the Inshore Skipper Certification

This course is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to confidently navigate coastal waters.

With a focus on practical training and hands-on experience, this course and hand book is very comprehensive and is what is required for ICC compliancy.

The ISSA Inshore Skipper handbook has been written on every subject that is required for sailing or chartering a yacht.  This also includes a section on engines and modern navigation chart plotters.

After the course:
Skipper power boats or Rigid Inflatable Boats:
– up to 20 nautical miles offshore  (with inboard our outboard engine)
– only in day time
– conditions up to F4 Beaufort.
