ISSA Polish Youth Sailing Team Shines at Qingdao International Marine Festival & Sailing Week

Since 2017, following a cooperation agreement between the Qingdao government and the International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA), ISSA has been invited annually to participate in the prestigious event. On the day of the opening ceremony of this year, a key highlight was the signing ceremony, where ISSA President Mr. Tomasz Lipski and the Director of the Qingdao Sports Bureau renewed the cooperation agreement, reinforcing their ongoing partnership.

According to the agreement, a Polish team of young sailors as the delegation of ISSA has been invited annually to participate in the prestigious Qingdao International Optimist Training Camp & Regatta. This year, the Polish team was once again proudly taking part in the 2024 edition of the event, which is one of the many highlights of the Qingdao International Marine Festival.

The Optimist Training Camp & Regatta, scheduled from September 6th to 10th, brings together young sailors from around the world, providing them with the opportunity to train, compete, and experience the rich maritime culture of Qingdao. The event is held at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, a world-class venue that played a central role in hosting water sports during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Photos from the camp showed the young Polish sailors honing their skills at this iconic location, preparing to face international competition in one of the most scenic and historically significant sailing arenas in the world.
